A Little Bit About Rumi

November 9, 2015 1:53 am Published by

Happy November! Can you believe we just have two more months in 2015?! I hope you all had a fun Halloween weekend! Now, to kick off our week, I would like to talk a bit about someone I am sure you have seen quoted here on the blog and on our Facebook page. It is no secret that I adore the writings of Rumi. But do you know who this guy was?

Rumi was a 13th-century Persian poet, has been called the greatest mystical poet of any age. Over a period of 25 years, he composed over 70,000 verses of poetry, beautifully portraying a life seeking out truth and love.

If you are interested in reading Rumi’s writings in-depth, I recommend The Essential Rumi. Or you can “follow” him on Facebook and Twitter!

Something about his writing touches my soul in a profound way. His infinite authenticity cuts through all the nonsense and gets straight to the true nature of our souls and love. He reminds me what matters most, love and connection, and helps me forget about my day to day worries.

My favorite Rumi quote is tattooed on my arm and says “my soul is from elsewhere and I intend to end up there” with the phases of the moon above it. I love this quote because it reminds me of my connection to the universe and that this life is but a fleeting moment in time.  Let me know what your favorite Rumi quote is and why it’s important to you.

While we’re talking about love and connection with the universe, I wanted to give you a little reminder to always protect your energy and take time for yourself to align and energize. You’re worth it.
