Hello and Happy Monday, friends! Today I am excited to share an opportunity I recently had to host a workshop with and inspiring non-profit organization here in Phoenix.
After running Zenned Out for a couple of years, with zero business background, it was clear that I needed help understanding some of the finer details of running and growing a business. Sure, a business can start with simply the love of creating a product or offering a service–but to stay a growing and successful business, it takes a little (ok, maybe a lot) more. I know from experience how challenging it can be to start a new business and keep it going. I am also passionate about educating and empowering women. This is why I love organizations like the AWEEC.
I first reached out to the Arizona Small Business Development Center, or SBDC, which is also a great program, that I highly recommend. Through them, I was able to learn a lot about tracking finances in my business and setting Zenned Out up for success in the future. When AWEEC opened this February I was so excited to have a similar program just for women. They offer free services like one-on-one mentoring and a host of other free trainings and events to help women entrepreneurs that are either brand new or well established in the business community. Follow them on Facebook for up to date happenings!
I recently had the privilege of kicking off the “Strong Coffee, Strong Women” series they offer every month. I shared several points about successful selling on Etsy, ranging from branding to social media and got to connect with several amazing and talented women. Last week I had the honor of sharing with our local NPR station KJZZ how AWEEC has helped me and my business. If you are interested, you can listen to the interview and learn more about the program by clicking here.
One addendum I would like to make to this radio interview is that AWEEC is helping women THRIVE, not just survive. We’re doing more than just surviving over here at Zenned Out and want other creative women to as well!
I know many of you may not live here in the Phoenix area, but can assure you that many other cities have similar programs. If you’re thinking about starting a business or already have, search around and I bet you’ll find some amazing things happening!
Cassie Uhl is the founder and owner of Zenned Out, a jewelry company that handcrafts jewelry with meaning and provides a community that inspires a mindful and spiritual lifestyle. Cassie grew up with a open minded, astrology obsessed grandmother and a father that would take her and her sister star gazing in the wee hours of the night. These experiences shaped Cassie and Zenned Out into what they are today by bringing spirituality and astrology into the forefront. Cassie hopes to give spiritual souls a place to feel at home on the Zenned Out blog and offers handcrafted jewelry with meaningful symbols, powerful gemstones, and mindful quotes to enable people to wear jewelry that aligns with their souls purpose.
