When I am working away in the studio my favorite thing to do is listen to audiobooks and podcasts–I don’t have much extra free time to read and there is just something soothing about listening to another person’s voice. Hearing other people’s stories is just so fascinating–their joys, struggles, pains and triumphs are such an inspiration as I create throughout the day. So, I thought I would share a few of my favorite podcasts and audiobooks that have been on my playlist lately!
The Moth is one of my absolute fav podcasts, I just love how real and candid it is.
Radiolab makes learning just so darn entertaining! It is witty and full of amazing facts and as they put it, “science meets culture and information sounds like music.”
Stuff Mom Never Told You is my weekly dose of feminism–hosts Cristen and Caroline are funny and engaging about a myriad of women-related topics.
The Martian by Andy Weir is an incredibly entertaining, “it could happen” type sci-fi book. It was like being tricked into a math and science lesson–so entertaining I didn’t even realize I was learning!
Girl Walks into a Bar by Rachel Dratch. I love listening to comedians read their memiors–it is like having a hilarious best friend tell you about their day. In this one, I loved how openly Rachel talks about all of her spiritual, hippy-dippy stuff that she feels so strongly about!
The Power of Vulnerability by Brene Brown. A seriously life-changing listen. If you need a motivational kick in the pants Brene Brown’s got it!
Have you listened to any of these? What are your thoughts? Any others that I should check out that you love? Let me know!
